Profile Management Application (PMA) technology promises to expand cable broadband capacity with only a software upgrade, but it requires custom integration and testing with each operator’s DOCSIS® infrastructure, which can slow down adoption. To help the PMA vendor community address this issue, we’re pleased to announce the formation of the PMA Partner Program, and we invite all PMA vendors to join.
This program will provide Kyrio’s PMA partners with access to our valuable DOCSIS lab, subject matter experts, PMA integration software and operator connections, helping vendors rapidly scale to serve more customers.
At Kyrio, we strongly believe in PMA’s potential to significantly improve DOCSIS network capacity. Put simply, PMA dynamically creates smart profiles that govern the modulation orders used in DOCSIS channels and adapts them to the network conditions of a specific hybrid fiber-coaxial (HFC) network.
PMA helps operators unlock the full potential of their networks and deliver connectivity in an efficient and effective way. Since CableLabs first developed a PMA prototype, CableLabs and others have demonstrated that PMA can increase DOCSIS network capacity by 20 to 40 percent in both the downstream and upstream directions.
Join the Partnership Today
The Kyrio PMA Partner Program is a low-cost and low-risk way to join forces to accelerate deployments of this important new technology. By joining the PMA Partner Program, PMA vendors can leverage Kyrio’s:
- Software libraries of profile translators specific to cable modem termination systems (CMTSs);
- Lab for testing their PMA implementations against a variety of CMTSs;
- Subject matter experts to augment their team on specific PMA engagements with customers; and
- Contacts for lead generation and co-marketing of their PMA implementation at events where Kyrio is already exhibiting, as well as on the Kyrio website.
